I travelled here with my wife and our two daughters, aged 5 and 4. What an amazing place! We visited on a Friday, and the people were so friendly, welcoming, and full of good humour (plenty of banter). There were loads of things to buy, each stall offering a different experience, along with fantastic local food. Of course, the stallholders are keen for business so you do get approached a lot, but that’s to be expected, it’s how small businesses make their living. People can be sceptical about Mexico 🇲🇽, but we found it very safe, and I’d recommend it to anyone. Support the local communities! (Family from England)

This market is very fun and big. You may spend more time shopping and eating at locals there. A must visit if you like shopping.

Great place to buy souvenirs and whatnot. Don't be shy to negotiate. Try to find stores ("tiendas") that have prices clearly marked. Stores near the market entrance trend to b pricier. Very clean restrooms, if needed (10 pesos per visit)

This is a big market with local vendors and local food. It is a bit overwhelming. I would walk around and then purchase what you want. You can haggle for your price. 1st vender wanted 400 mxn for the same thing a vender wanted 100mxn. Walk around 1st. Lots of souvenirs to choose from.

This is a vibrant and lively place to buy souvenirs and haggle over prices if you're into that kind of thing. It is a bit of a tourist tral but it's a tourist area. It can be overwhelming if you aren't prepared for the close quarters and constant engagement from the vendors, the restaurants are equally aggressive in trying to get your butt on their seats but the food we had was delicious and reasonably priced. Be prepared for additional "service fee" to be added to your bill which was 50 pesos, in lieu of tip.

I bought this beautiful pants for only 380 pesos. It’s much cheaper than the mercado near the hotelzone cz they will offer you like 900 pesos crazy! I recommend to just buy your souvenir and clothes here, there’s a lot of options, so colorful, and not a lot of people

If your looking for a good market for souvenirs this is the place! Be mindful as you will need to haggle sometimes aggressively for better prices and the vendors can become aggressive. But its a fun experience and I highly advise walking the market to see all what is around. You will find numerous shops with the same thing and different prices so look around first and go from there. Also a lot of the stands have people to bring you to their stand nearby. That's very much a thing. But overall found lots of cool souvenirs and got good prices after a lot of negotiating lol.

Mercado 28 is lively and colorful with lots of local shops and souvenirs. Prices are usually quoted high, but negotiating is expected and works well—don’t hesitate to bargain. Once negotiated, you can get decent deals. Fun place to walk around and shop if you’re comfortable haggling.
